MONEY MARKET
Dividends in SWCU Money Market Accounts are paid and compounded monthly. Earn a high rate of return on your investment, and withdraw your money when you need it. Open a SWCU Money Market Account with $1,000 minimum deposit. You can make up to six withdrawals (or up to three check withdrawals) per month without penalty.
IRAs
Saving enough for a comfortable retirement is important no matter what your age. One of the best ways to save enough for retirement is with an Individual Retirement Account (IRA). SWCU offers three different IRA options including a Traditional IRA Share Account, an IRA Certificate, and a Roth IRA. Choose to make a lump sum contribution for the tax year or to make deposits throughout the year in any amount that you choose.
Traditional IRA*
- $5 minimum to open
- Offers tax deferred earnings and the opportunity to deduct contributions from your income taxes
* Consult your tax advisor for further information.
Roth IRA*
- $5 minimum to open
- Contributions are made after taxes, and therefore can be withdrawn at any time. Interest earned on the account is tax-free and can be withdrawn after a five-year holding period.
IRA Share Certificates**
Our IRA certificates guarantee a specific yield over a selected term when you make a $1,000 minimum deposit.
See SWCU’s current IRA and IRA certificate rates
** IRA Share Certificates subject to SWCU penalties upon early withdrawal. Please see SWCU Truth in Savings Disclosure for details.
CDs
For an even higher yield than a savings or money market account, consider investing in a Share Certificate of Deposit. You can have the best of both worlds by earning more money and gaining control over your funds.
- Terms range from 6 months to 5 years
- Minimum of $1,000 to open
- Higher yield over $25,000
- Penalty for early withdrawal
